This is the explosive moment a man’s pork-knuckle supper goes flying after the pressure pot it is being cooked in explodes with a bang, with the lid almost wiping out a cat.

The incident happened while the man was cooking the pork knuckles in a pressure cooker in the back courtyard at a property in the Chinese city of Hechi, which is in Guangxi, an autonomous region in southern China.

The man doing the cooking looks relaxed as he sits in a small wooden chair alongside an open fire where the pressure cooker is located, and another man is seen looking over from the other side of the courtyard.

As the cook reaches for his phone, he glances over at the pot, and a second later it explodes, sending the lid flying up into the air and out of camera before crashing to the ground.

The terrified cook is over on the other side of the courtyard by the time the lid comes crashing down to the ground, and a scared cat is seen disappearing into a barn, narrowly missing being hit by the pan lid after it bounces off another object before hitting the floor.

A scared chicken also disappears off-screen after the explosion as the two men then return to the damaged pot and peer inside at the remains of their pork-knuckle supper.

Local media reported that the pressure cooker lid had probably not been fixed properly.

Pressure cookers offer much faster ways of cooking because they prevent boiling while cooking at temperatures well above 100 degrees Celsius.

But the high pressure is extremely dangerous if the pressure cooker is not properly sealed.

The pork knuckles that the man was cooking are part of the shank section of the lower leg of the pig, which many people believe contains the best meat.

It is popular in Chinese cooking, but also in Germany, where is one of the most well-known examples of Bavarian cuisine often eaten at beer festivals together with plenty of beer.
