Police Officers Pursue And Arrest Man Who Stole Ambulance

This footage shows police officers chasing down and arresting a thieving suspect who attempted to flee with a stolen ambulance.

Newsflash obtained the footage from the Atlanta Police Department (APD), along with a statement according to which the incident took place in the city of Atlanta, in the US state of Georgia.

Dash-cam footage shows APD vehicles following closely behind the suspect, later identified as Jonathan Williams, 33, who was escaping in an ambulance after stealing it from the Emory Midtown Hospital.

And body-worn footage shows officers jumping out of their patrol cars and going after Williams who exited the ambulance after arriving at a local petrol station.

They run up to him as he is walking away and put him in handcuffs while clearing the stolen vehicle.

The APD said the officers were able to track down Williams just 10 minutes after receiving the call about the theft.

Williams was charged with Theft by Taking, Traffic Light Violation, and Driving in Proper Lane, the APD said.

He was reportedly transported to the Fulton County Jail after being taken into custody without incident.
