This is the moment Gerard Pique receives a phone call from a Real Madrid fan after he posted his real telephone number on social media and he gives the supporter tickets to his tennis event.

Barcelona star Pique, 32, made a post on his social media page showing a picture of him and his team as they organise the new Davis Cup to be held in the Spanish capital Madrid from 18th to 24th November.

Pique captioned the post: “Working with the @daviscupfinals team! Anything you need, here is my telephone number. +34649500001”

Not long after the post was made Pique received a phone call from an unsuspecting fan.

The video shows the moment the Barcelona centre-back answers the call and speaks with a fan who has only been identified as Jose by the player on his social media.

After short introductions, the fan assures he “loves” tennis. Pique thanks the fan for his “respect” saying he knows it must be hard as Jose is “a Real Madrid fan”, then offers him two tickets for the inauguration of the Davis Cup scheduled to have its first match on Monday 18th November.

Pique captioned the video: “I have had the pleasure of meeting Jose! As he was one of the first to call, he got lucky! @DavisCupFinals”

When Golder’s News and Sport called the number, it went straight to voicemail and a message played saying the inbox was full.

The post comes after Pique founded the media and sports investment company Kosmos Holding which is based in Barcelona which made a deal with the International Tennis Federation for 25 years and 3 billion EUR (2.59 billion GBP) to promote and improve the competition.
