This is the moment a bungling driver mixes up the pedals and rams a pedestrian into a shopfront as large sections of broken glass fall on top of her.

The incident was filmed in the district of Polatli in the Turkish province of Ankara and the victim has been hospitalised with multiple injuries.

According to reports, the driver, named as Meral Demir, mixed up the pedals and lost control of her vehicle as pedestrian Gaye Nur D. was walking along the pavement.

Demir’s car ended up ramming Gaye into the shopfront, destroying the entrance and causing injury to the woman.

In the footage, the victim is seen walking along the pavement as the driver apparently leaves a parking space and loses control of her vehicle.

The red car shoots forwards and rams Gaye into the entrance of the paint shop, sending dangerous sections of broken glass on top of her.

The woman falls backwards as a witness apparently removes the key from the vehicle’s ignition to prevent further incident.

The female driver exits her car in a panic as a large group of people gathers around the injured victim on the ground.

According to reports, the emergency services arrived on the scene and Gaye was taken to the Polatli Duatepe State Hospital after receiving first aid on the street.

Meanwhile, the driver has been arrested by the police as the investigation continues.
