This is the moment a massive Alaskan Malamute is left spread-eagled on the floor after a table collapsed when it was getting a shave.

The huge Malamute is the heaviest of the sledge dogs which was built for size and strength and endurance, so that it could pull heavy sledges.

But it also has a thick coat to protect it from the Alaskan cold which is not always needed in warm weather, which is why this one was getting a shave from its owner at the family home in Jiaozuo, a prefecture-level city in the northwest of China’s Henan province.

The man is holding onto the dog’s tail while it is standing there obediently, but it then suddenly drops to the ground as the table unexpectedly collapses on all four table legs, leaving the poor dog spread-eagled on the floor as it hits the deck.

The video ends with the man holding onto the tail of the confused dog looking unconcerned as the poor animal looks as if it’s trying to decide whether to remain there because someone is holding its tail or run-off.

Online commentators noticed that it was probably a good thing because the man shaving the poor hound clearly didn’t have much idea – with different thicknesses all over the dogs body, and if he had carried on, it might have ended up completely naked.
