This is the moment a 72-year-old grandmother’s dream of flying like a bird comes true as she soars at 4,000ft attached to a paraglider over central China.

The daredevil pensioner – not named in local media – took off with a flying instructor above the city of Anyang, Henan province.

Her instructor – named as Mr Shen – told local media that she told him she had dreamed of flying since she was young but kept putting it off because she was too busy.

But now, the elderly flyer decided it was time to stop putting off her dream and take the leap before she got too old.

In footage of the flight, she can be seen as grim-faced and nervous at first.

But as the flight goes on, she literally spreads her wings and holds her arms out wide as she beams with delight.

Mr Shen said he was very moved by the flight and was amazed at how calm his passenger was throughout the entire flying experience.
