A man who lost a Star Wars figurine of Emperor Palpatine 15 years ago was shocked when he found it was being worshipped by his gran on a small altar with Christian saints.

The man, who was only a child at the time, had mislaid his figuring of Emperor Palpatine, otherwise known as Darth Sidious, the Dark Lord of the Sith and ruler of the Galactic Empire.

But unbeknown to the lad, it had been found by his grandma, now aged 90, who mistook the Emperor figure’s cloaked appearance as belonging to a Christian saint.

She placed it on a small table that she used as an altar at her home along with Christian saints.

The Emperor figurine’s cape, and the fact that his hands appear to be held together as if in prayer, may have been what caused the 90-year-old woman’s confusion.

On his ‘dakkaratv’ handle on TikTok, the man wrote: “I arrive at my grandmother’s house and I start to notice the figurines of the saints.”

“A toy that I lost 15 years ago, Lord Sidious from ‘Star Wars’, has become a saint. A toy of mine that she found and believed to be a saint, and he is the baddest of the siths, the one that turns Anakin to the dark side.”

He then shared the footage of the altar where the Emperor had been placed after he was mistaken for a saint.

He said that it meant that every day when his grandmother said her prayers by the altar, she was praying to the Dark Lord of the Sith as well.

In Star Wars, Darth Sidious manages to sway Luke Skywalker’s father Anakin over to the Dark Side, with him then becoming Darth Vader.
