This is the moment an elderly woman is reportedly knocked out when a bus driver opens the doors and she walks out of the moving vehicle.

The accident happened in Chongqing Municipality’s Changshou District, which is in south-western China, with pensioner Ms Feng still hospitalised and receiving treatment for the incident on 12th August.

CCTV footage from the bus shows Ms Feng standing by the back doors of the moving bus and preparing to get off as it travels along Changshou Road.

When the back doors suddenly open, Ms Feng seems unaware that it is a mistake, and that the vehicle is still moving.

She does not think twice before stepping onto the road, which causes her to fall and hit her head on the ground.

Ms Feng was reportedly unconscious and helped by witnesses before being taken to hospital for treatment.

She is not in any life-threatening condition, the authorities said.

Ms Feng recalled: “I was holding on to the handrail, then the doors opened and I stepped off.

“I don’t remember anything else. I was knocked out.

“I don’t know who dragged me onto the pavement afterwards.”

The authorities said the driver, surnamed Ran, opened the back doors by mistake.

Investigators are still looking into the case.
