This 35-year-old man has been arrested for killing his disabled father, also pictured, with a scythe and leaving him lying in a pool of blood because he would not let him drink more coffee.

The incident took place in the suburb of Velika Mostanica in the northern Serbian capital Belgrade when suspect Dejan Satri asked his 64-year-old dad Agim Satri if he could have another coffee.

According to local media, a row erupted when the father told his son that he drinks too much caffeine every day.

Reports said that Dejan took a scythe from the garden and stabbed his dad five times in the back.

The suspect’s mother came home and found her husband dead on the floor, telling local media: “When I returned, I was shocked. Agim was lying in a pool of blood.

“I asked him what happened, but he did not reply.”

She said that Dejan was lying in his room and at first did not want to talk, but after a while he asked his mum for a coffee and then told her.

The mother reported the incident to the police and her son was arrested.

She explained that her son has suffered with mental health issues ever since the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999.

She also claimed that Agim, who had his right leg amputated due to his diabetes, suddenly became violent about five years ago following kidney problems.

The investigation continues.
