An ex-convict who became a multimillionaire after winning the lottery has apparently bought himself a yacht now to add to his top-of-the-range Ferrari and Porsche.
Followers of Kursat Yildirim, 42, nicknamed Chico, have been speculating about the boat since he shared images of it on his Instagram page with his name written on it.
Chico, from the city of Dortmund, in North Rhine-Westphalia State, Germany, shared the images alongside others taken when he was reportedly at a village near the city of Nairobi, in Kenya.
When he scooped his grand EUR 9.9 million (GBP 8.72 million) lottery win on 24th September 2022, the 42-year-old Turkish immigrant claimed he would donate some of the money to people in need.
At the time he said: “I would love to go to Africa myself, build wells, and give presents to children. I swore I’d do something good with the money – and I will…”
But after sharing several images on his Instagram profile in which he can be seen in the company of locals, he astonished his followers when he posted a third photo of the sailboat on Monday, 27th February.
The fancy white vessel with his name written all over it in blue seemed to confirm that he had made another expensive purchase.
Chico quit his job as a crane operator and went on a massive spending fee, splashing out more than EUR 1.5 million (GBP 1.3 million) within a month after the grand win.
He reportedly bought a GBP 392,000 V8 Ferrari 448 Pista, a Porsche Turbo S Cabriolet, a penthouse in Istanbul, and went shopping at luxury stores such as Rolex, Prada, Gucci and Versace.
The 42-year-old man also bought a 20-hectare plantation containing 6,000 almond trees in his native Turkey.
This latest photo apparently showing his latest addition to his collection of luxury items prompted comments from many that he probably would not have much money left for spending at this rate.
Instagram user ‘peilheidi’ said: “He could make himself more famous if you were to help people.”
User ‘4azadi4’ defended Chico by saying: “Just let him enjoy, let him do as he wants, don’t be so jealous that’s his problem if he has no money left!?!? We live everyday and die once!”
Then a third one named ‘drewes.tony’ said: “It never gets boring with him, I think it’s totally awesome how he lives his life.”
Chico has not made any statements so far.
