This bizarre footage shows a calf that was astoundingly born with eight legs and three eyes.

Farmers in Itaguacu, a municipality in Brazil, were shocked to find that the newest addition to the cow herd had a few extra bits – to say the least.

Born with a total of eight legs and three eyes, as well as four ears, villagers and vets were stunned to learn that what they thought were multiple babies was incredibly a single one with extras.

A video taken by an unnamed witness shows a man, presumably the calf’s owner, counting all the additional body parts.

It is almost entirely unheard of in the world to have such an extreme mutation, according to veterinarian Gabriel Dantas Cuzzuoul.

He said: “We are talking about a genetic malformation.”

Doctor Cuzzuoul reportedly suspects the anomaly may be a result of the calf’s parents sharing a blood relation, or the possible indiscriminate use of medication.

He revealed that although strange mutations can sometimes occur in the animal fetus, they are still very rare, local media reported.

Doctor Cuzzuoul claimed that in many cases, animals with malformation do not reach the end of pregnancy, and may be expelled spontaneously by the mother.

The birth was allegedly witnessed by bio-science student Nathalia Borges, who was one of the people who aided in the birth.

According to her, everyone believed there were two calves.

But as they pulled the baby out, they then saw that it was a single eight-legged, three-eyed mutant.

The calf was reportedly dead at the time of the birth.
