A Turkish woman chopped off her mum’s head in a furious rage and stuffed it in a cooking pot when the older woman refused to sign her flat over.

She had also butchered the rest of her mum’s body including chopping all of the meat from her left leg leaving just the bone behind before she was caught by cops.

Tugce Sayin, 35, who was a qualified emergency medical technician with good understanding of human anatomy, had been arguing with her mother for some time about gaining ownership of the mother’s home in the district of Kucukcekmece in the north-western Turkish province of Istanbul.

The argument eventually culminated in a row in which the younger woman murdered her mother and dragged the body into the bathroom before she cut off the head so as not to make too much mess.

She had also set about chopping up the rest of the body including stripping all of the meat off of the bone of her left leg before she was caught.

Worried neighbours had raised the alarm when they were unable to contact her mother Sevilay Palabiyik, 67, and called police.

The officers who rang the doorbell found themselves face-to-face with the daughter, who refused to allow the men until they insisted.

Once inside she then suddenly confessed to the murder, and told police that her mother’s body was in the bathroom.

There were then horrified to find the butchered body with the meat completely removed from the older woman’s left leg, and her head in a pot in the kitchen filled with water.

The meat that she had had from the leg was put in a bucket.

Local media reported that the young woman had wanted her mother to register the flat in her name and was murdered when she refused to do so.

An autopsy will attempt to find out the cause of death and the investigation continues.
