Mum’s Eyes Burst Blood Vessels Giving Birth To 11lb Whopper

A Mexican mother has told how giving birth to her whopping 11lb son made her eyes bleed from the strain.

Video footage of the birth shows the mum, named only as Maira on a TikTok clip, gasping as she starts to realise this is not just an average baby coming.

The images then show how the whites of her eyes turned red as all the blood vessels burst from the strain as she pushed her baby out.

The tot, born in Coahuila, Mexico, eventually tipped the scales at 4.6 kilogrammes, or just under 11 lbs.

Later footage, which went viral on social media after it was shared by Maira on 11th October, shows the huge baby with a full head of hair after medics gave him the all-clear.

Maira said: “I gave birth to the biggest baby that day – exploding every blood vessel in my face.”

Baby mittens bought for the newborn were too small for his hands, so Maria put socks on them instead.

She said: “His hands were too big for his gloves!”

Social media users were astonished with one saying: “Just when I thought I couldn’t get more horrified.”

Another said: “Yes, I did the same when I saw myself.”

And one said: “The way my jaw dropped when I saw your eyes… Girl!”

Mums are usually told by midwives not to hold their breath during labour while they are pushing.

But Maira told one six-months-pregnant user: “Yes, I held my breath and pushed hard without caring about anything.

“I just wanted him out because he was hurting me so much. I had blood coming out of my eyes.”

There have been no further updates on the mother’s or her baby’s health.
