This is the moment a terrified woman and her young son flee their car as an obsessed man she rejected rams them and then tries to run them over.
The incident in Foshan’s Sanshui District, in South China’s Guangdong Province, was captured in part on a passing car’s dashcam, which shows suspect Mr Huang ramming the mum’s Lexus SUV.
The two cars are stopped near a park on Xiqing Avenue as Mr Huang, 29, drives his BYD saloon into the occupied car on the morning of 23th October
In witness video, mother Ms Deng, 31, manages to escape the driver’s side door and flees the Lexus into a nearby park together with her young son.
But Mr Huang, whose advances Ms Deng reportedly rejected, reverses and tries to run the pair over by driving straight at them.
The mother and child are spared by a concrete bollard at the park entrance which becomes lodged underneath the suspect’s saloon, leaving the vehicle suspended in the air.
Ms Deng picks up her son and runs towards witnesses inside the park, the video shows.
Local police are later seen questioning Mr Huang, who was detained at the scene.
The authorities said the suspect had been pursuing a relationship with Ms Deng but saw his interest rejected.
The jilted man then chased after the mum’s car and rammed it, they said.
The police said Ms Deng and her son were not harmed.
Investigations are ongoing.
