Local residents accused the authorities of failing to clear important routes in the area after a period of heavy snowfall.

One funeral attendee said on social media: “The hearse began to skid near the cemetery entrance and we got out of and noticed that the route was completely blocked.

“However, there was a sled on the snow right in front of the cemetery entrance.”

According to the unnamed mourner, workers claimed they had managed to clear several areas of the cemetery, but the “snowplough operator responsible for specific sector left because he had the rest of the day off”.

The angry funeral attendee added: “The cemetery is funded by the Pechora city administration so why did the authorities ignore their responsibilities and the needs of the people living in the area?”

To reinforce her point, the mourner shared the video of two men dragging the coffin through the snow on the sled.
