Moment Strong Winds Rip Off Huge University Roof

This is the moment a huge section of roof is ripped off a university building by strong winds.

The incident was filmed in the city of Kyzylorda in the southern Kazakh region of the same name, and at least one other building in the area suffered the same fate.

The footage of the roof being ripped off the Bolashak University was filmed by a resident who lives across the street.

Fortunately, no one was around at the time and no injuries were reported.

A second video shows a large section of roof being ripped off a city building before crashing to the ground below.

According to local media, the winds tore off a 300-square-metre section of the roof and no one was injured by the falling debris.

The local emergency services said: “At around 12pm on 24th March, strong winds ripped off the roof of the Bolashak University at 31, Abaya Avenue.

“A 15-person team was sent to the scene to deal with the incident. No one was injured.”

Netizen ‘Lenya Golubkov’ said: “Strong wind ripped off weak roofs. The builders should be blamed.”

‘Sargon’ commented: “The roofs of two buildings in the city were ripped off. I’m not sure it was the weather, the construction company cut costs for sure.”
