BMW Drift Driver Ploughs Into Crowd Of Spectators

This is the shocking moment a BMW driver who gatecrashed a professional drifting contest to show off and ended up ploughing into a crowd of spectators, sending several of them flying.

The incident took place in the northern Croatian capital Zagreb during an event for car lovers and drift drivers and was filmed by a spectator.

In the footage uploaded to YouTube and viewed by 60,000 people, the BMW driver is seen performing tricks on a car park surrounded by dozens of spectators.

However, the unnamed motorist loses control and ploughs head-on into a crowd of people with a sickening thud.

Stunned onlookers rush to help the injured while the bungling driver is seen opening his door to get out of the badly-damaged vehicle.

According to local media, the drift driver injured two men and a woman whose identities have not been disclosed.

Meanwhile, Tomislav Staresina of the Royal Performance Motorsport club claimed that the driver should not have been allowed to drift at the event and did so without permission.

He said: “Everyone who applied to take part in the drifting event had to sign a personal responsibility form. This guy did not, and then he took part without anyone’s permission.”

According to local media, two nurses arrived on the scene to attend to the three wounded spectators. Luckily, none of them suffered serious injuries.

Reports said that the driver apologised for the incident and will not be allowed to take part in future events.

It is unclear whether the local authorities are investigating the accident.
