Moment Grandad And Grandson, 4, Playing Badminton In Living Room Smash Glass Coffee Table In Front Of Mum

This is the moment a granddad and his four-year-old grandson playing badminton in the living room nearly injure the boy’s mum and her newborn after they cause a glass tabletop to explode.

The incident took place in the city of Guangzhou in southern China’s coastal province of Guangdong, on 11th January.

The footage shows the four-and-a-half-year-old boy playing badminton with his grandfather in the living room.

The boy’s mother can be seen sitting on a chair across from them as she cradles her newborn baby, with the large coffee table between them.

At one point, the young boy hits the shuttlecock rather hard, and it reportedly hit a chandelier pendant that broke off and hit the coffee table. The glass tabletop is then seen exploding into hundreds of shards.

The boy’s mother, who has not been named, and her newborn appear to narrowly miss being hit by the flying shards, and the woman can be seen reaching up with her hand to check her face is okay.

The young boy, who has not been named, appears to be slightly panicked at what has just happened and appears to be on the verge of tears, but his grandfather, who has not been named either, quickly reassures him and tells him everything is okay.

The boy’s aunt, who has been named as Ms Zheng, said that the boy’s mother and grandfather hurried over to reassure the child when they realised that he had started crying.

No one is thought to have been injured in the incident, and the family said that they are not going to replace the coffee table but redecorate instead.
