This is the moment a firefighter pulls a dirty cat out of a sewage pipe after the poor feline mysteriously became trapped inside.
The incident was filmed in a residential garden in the city of Alba Iulia in the central-western Romanian county of the same name and the video was later widely shared on social media.
According to local media, the fire brigade was called to the home after the animal was found trapped inside a sewage pipe.
Firefighters had to dig a hole to reach the pipe before breaking it open to reach the cat’s position.
They also had to carry out the rescue quickly as there were concerns the cat could suffocate inside the pipe.
In the footage, a firefighter is seen carefully pulling the feline’s leg through the hole with a gloved hand.
The cat appears stuck, but the firefighter also pulls its tail and the animal soon slides free.
A colleague passes the filthy cat to a woman who promptly wraps it in cloth and comforts the meowing feline.
It is unclear how the cat became trapped inside the sewage pipe.
