Missing Pretty Womans Corpse Found At Bottom Of California Aqueduct By Divers Days After Boyfriend Charged With Murder

The corpse of this pretty woman has been found at the bottom of the California Aqueduct by divers days after her boyfriend was charged with her murder.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has announced that the body of Missy Hernandez, 31, was recovered by their divers from the bottom of the California Aqueduct, not far from Siskiyou and Dorris Avenues, near the town of Huron, in the western US state of California, on Sunday, 16th January. She had been missing for 40 days.

Her boyfriend, named as Ramon Jimenez, 41, was arrested last week in connection with her death, which they reportedly believe took place as a result of an unspecified domestic dispute. He is being held without bail at the Fresno County jail on charges of domestic violence and murder.

Sheriff Margaret Mims said retrieving the victim’s body was a dangerous and difficult task. She said: “The temperature of that water, limited visibility in that water, they could not touch the bottom because of the silt that would rise up and bring visibility to zero, so patience was the order of the day.”

Investigators have also said that they found “digital” and “forensic” evidence that showed that there had been a violent altercation at Hernandez’s home, although they added that they are not going to reveal her cause of death.

Digital evidence found during the investigation is also credited with providing law enforcement with multiple potential search locations.

After having conducted multiple searches on dry land, it was decided, on 16th January, to attempt a difficult diving operation at a particular point of the California Aqueduct. This was carried out by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Dive Team.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for the victim’s funeral expenses, and at the time of writing, it had generated nearly USD 7,000 in donations out of a USD 33,000 goal.
