Medic Suspended After Performing Intimate Exams And Videotaping Patients Without Consent In His Bedroom

A board of medics from the USA has banned a university physician from practicing after he lured patients to his bedroom and examined their private parts while videotaping them.

Dr Rudel Saunders, who worked at the Medical Centre of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, in Hamilton County, Ohio State, USA, was suspended after the Ohio Medical Board made its vote on Wednesday, on 8th February.

Saunders, who had been a licensed medic since April 2020, was reportedly caught after the Board found out that he had invited at least five different patients to his home during the previous year.

Board officials claimed that the incident began on last year’s Valentine’s Day, when the alleged offender called the first person to his home for a check up.

He reportedly told him that he had to pass a specific number of exams as a requirement for a training program that he took part in.

The man’s examination consisted of ultrasound exams of various part’s of his body including his testicles “for no valid healthcare reason”, according to police reports.

Reports also claimed that Saunders had completely invaded the men’s privacy by videotaping him without his consent and had failed to follow protocol by not bothering to wear gloves during the procedures.

He reportedly assaulted four more patients with the most recent case occurring on Saturday, 7th January 2023.

After he was caught, UC Health spokeswoman Todd Dykes revealed that he was no longer connected to the university.

Saunders who has not been detained or formally charged, can request a hearing with the Board to defend himself against the claims using witnesses and evidence until 10th March.

If he does not request a hearing or if found guilty, he faces a permanent suspension of his medical license along with probation.

He also faces a civil penalty of up to USD 20,000 (GBP 16,624) for each offense.
