This is the moment Masha and the Bear skip along the pavement on a sunny day during COVID-19 lockdown.

Masha and the Bear, the main characters from the kids animated series of the same name about a retired circus bear and a sprightly young girl, were filmed in the resort city of Odessa in the southern Ukrainian region of Odessa Oblast.

The city has been on lockdown since 24th March to curb the spread of COVID-19.

In the video, Masha appears to be wearing a face mask as she skips and dances along the pavement with her furry friend on the end of a lead on a sunny day.

Netizen ‘Julia Mendeleeva’ commented: “It is important that Masha has a face mask on and walks her pet on the end of a lead. All the norms have been respected!”

In the list of top 10 most viewed videos on YouTube, an episode of Masha and the Bear sits in fifth place, surrounded by music videos from the world’s biggest stars.

The ‘Recipe for Disaster’ episode has been viewed 4.3 billion times, even more than the music videos for ‘Uptown Funk’ (Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars) and ‘Gangnam Style’ (Psy).

‘Despacito’ by Luis Fonsi featuring Daddy Yankee still sits top with 6.7 billion views followed by ‘Baby Shark Dance’ and Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’ in third.

According to the latest figures from the Johns Hopkins University, there have been 2,777 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine, with 83 related deaths.
