Mans Neck Pierced By Steel Bar In Accident At Construction Site

A Chinese construction worker who was impaled through the neck on a steel bar has survived.

The unidentified man had been working on a construction site in Juye, which is a county in China’s Shandong province, when the near-fatal accident happened.

According to the emergency services, the man had been working when the steel bar was dropped from further up and plunged to the ground like a spear.

The man, who was leaning over at the time, was then impaled through the neck, with the metal incredibly missing his spine and major blood vessels.

But still critically injured and with the metal still lodged in his neck, the man was taken to hospital, where firefighters shortened the metal bar before he was rushed into surgery at the County People’s Hospital.

It was later reported that the man had survived and is now recovering, with doctors carefully monitoring the situation.
