This is the moment a man walks along a crash barrier as if it were a tightrope and he later told police officers he was doing it to see if he suffered from high blood pressure and would fall off due to dizziness.

The man, whose name has not been released by the police, works as a builder in the city of Fuyang in Anhui Province in East China.

Traffic camera footage dated 15th January shows the man walking up to the crash barrier dividing the scooter lane and the motor vehicle lane.

He jumps on top of the metal barrier at the junction between Qinghe Road and Yinghuai Avenue, and begins tip-toeing along it like it is a balance beam.

The would-be gymnast does not get far before he falls off onto a road, before stepping back onto the crash barrier to try again.

This reportedly happens in full view of nearby traffic cops as cars and scooters past dangerously close to him.

Fuyang authorities later arrested the man for a public order offence, saying his actions endangered traffic and himself.

However, he told police: “I was measuring my blood pressure.

“When my blood pressure is high, I can’t balance properly.

“When I have high blood pressure, I can never reach the end.”

He was let off with a warning.
