This is the shocking moment a football fan is stabbed by a gang of rival supporters before running to a stopped car and dropping to the ground unconscious ahead of a local derby.

The incident happened hours before the local derby between Deportivo Cali and America Cali in the city of Cali in the Valle del Cauca department located in southwest Colombia on Saturday 8th February.

The video shows the moment an America supporter identified as Andres Carvajal Escobar known as “El Chino” is attacked by rival supporters. He is seen lying on the ground as the thugs kick him.

One of the attackers seemingly stabs the victim which prompts him to stand up and run away before apparently receiving another stab wound in his back.

The apparent knifeman collects things from the ground and starts walking away from the scene.

Carvajal runs up to a car which was nearby and seemingly speaks with the driver for a short while before he slowly loses consciousness and falls head-first into the open car window and plummets to the ground succumbing to his fatal wounds.

Local media report Carvajal died on the street from stab wounds.

Two suspects have reportedly been arrested for the brutal murder, one of whom is said to be a minor, however there have been no further reports on their identities.

Cali Mayor Jorge Ivan Ospina issued a statement condemning the incident saying: “I summon that the derby of Cali – America start with a minute of silence and deep reflection with real actions to close the doors of football to violent people forever.”

The mayor went on to offer a reward saying: “A 10-million-COP (2,288-GBP) reward is being offered for any information on the murderers.” The investigation is ongoing.

Deportivo won the derby 2-1 and are second in the Colombian top-flight.
