Man Shoots Teen Mum In Brazil Motel Before Turning Gun On Self

A 34-year-old man has shot dead his estranged teen wife in a motel in Brazil before turning the gun on himself.

The incident took place in the municipality of Itarare in the south-eastern Brazilian state of Sao Paulo on 22nd November.

Wender Martins, 34, met up with Adrielly Gaya, 18, after leaving the courthouse in the nearby municipality of Senges in the southern state of Parana, where he worked as a security guard.

The pair then went to a motel where shots were heard at around 5pm by an employee who called the room phone which went unanswered.

A short while later, the young woman’s relatives arrived at the scene looking for her. The receptionist opened the room and found the two bodies.

The receptionist then called the police.

According to reports, the young woman was lying dead next to the bed and the lifeless man was on the bed holding the gun over his belly.

The 18-year-old woman had reportedly been shot four times in the chest.

The police are currently investigating the motive and hope messages from the pair’s mobile phones will give them clues.

They believe the crime was premeditated as Martins went to the scene with the gun he used at work.

The couple had been married for six months, having known each other for two months prior, but had separated shortly before the incident.

Gaya leaves behind a two-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. There is no information about the young girl’s situation.
