This beautiful Brazilian model has reportedly been knifed to death by her jealous ex after she broke up with him.
Daiana dos Santos da Silva, 27, was allegedly stabbed to death by her ex when she arrived for work at the Espaco Margarete beauty salon in the municipality of Blumenau on 26th November.
The model and hairdresser hailed from the municipality of Sete Lagoas, some 964 kilometres (599 miles) away, but lived in Blumenau with an aunt.
The crime, which took place at around 9.30 am, was witnessed by Silva’s colleague, Maristela Krause, who told local media: “She was arriving at the salon when she was surprised by her ex.
“The man was on a motorbike and drove the vehicle at her, pushing her against the wall. When she tried to get up, he started stabbing her.”
Salon owner Margarete Martins also witnessed the crime. She told local media: “I saw the knife and started to scream and call for help, but it all happened so quickly.
“He went straight for the jugular. He knew what he wanted. We saw the guy’s fury, stabbing mercilessly, completely out of control.
“I know they were together for about five years and that they broke up about three months ago. This case has scared us because he was apparently a calm and easygoing person. Daiana never complained to us about him.”
Silva reportedly died at the scene with stab wounds to her chest and neck before the emergency services arrived.
After committing the crime, the suspect left his bike and went home as if nothing had happened. He was later arrested by the police without putting up a fight.
He has been named as 33-year-old Neylor Eduardo de Siqueira Dias and he has been placed in preventive detention.
According to reports, the victim’s aunt is shaken by the brutal crime. She is raising funds to transport her niece’s body from Blumenau to her hometown.
A demonstration took place in Blumenau on 27th November in which protesters demanded an end to acts of femicide.
The investigation continues.
