Accused Ronny Jose Barbera-Quintero, 39, has admitted hiding the camera under a sink, pointing straight at a women’s lavatory.

He told police in the town of Medley, in Miami-Dade County, Florida State, USA, that he had done it to try to catch colleagues who had been using the loo for sex.

Barbera-Quintero was arrested in his car on Tuesday, 14th February, after he tried to flee when his camera was discovered by a horrified co-worker.

He was seized as he tried to escape down the US 27 highway.

Bosses at Ricoma Embroidery Machines checked their in-house CCTV footage and found Barbera-Quintero had been in the women’s bathroom.

Medley Police spokesman Deglys Chavarria said: “The camera was placed underneath the sink between the plumbing and a cover and facing the toilet.

“He admitted that on Monday he placed the camera in the bathroom.

“His excuse – and there is no excuse for this – is that there was a rumour that employees were having relations in the bathroom and he wanted to capture that.”

Police claimed that four victims who had entered the bugged loo were caught on camera by Barbera-Quintero.

Detectives claimed he “observed multiple victims undressing and privately exposing their bodies to use the toilet in a place where they expected to have a reasonable expectation of privacy.”

A judge ordered Barbera-Quintero to be held in jail with a bond set at USD 5,000 (GBP 4,171).

Police are seeking further victims as the investigation continues.
