Man Gets Nine Years For Horrific Attack On Trans Model, Leaving Her With Broken Nose And Jaw

A man who robbed and assaulted this trans model, breaking her nose and jaw, has been sentenced to nine years in prison.

The Court of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil convicted Lucas Brito Marques of aggravated robbery with serious bodily harm.

He met transsexual model Alice Felis in a bar in August 2020. They chatted and went back to her house, where they had some drinks before Marques launched his attack.

Alice was robbed, beaten and had her nose and jaw broken. It turned out Marques had several priors for robbery, drug trafficking and illegal possession of a firearm.

His priors also included crimes against transsexuals, according to Felis’ lawyer Feh Oliveira.

Oliveira said at the time: “He already had a police record for theft and for robbery. He is a well-known person in Copacabana, used to beating transvestites and transsexuals.”

Alice said of her attack at the time: “He grabbed me by the neck, he threw me on the floor and he dragged me. He broke my jaw and my nose. I have my mouth sewn up, I had stitches. He tried to stab me.”

The attack prompted an outpouring of support on social media at the time, including from famous personalities, including drag queen and singer-songwriter Pabllo Vittar, who commented: “I hope from the bottom of my heart that whoever did this pays, that he is arrested and that justice is done.”

Police spokeswoman Bianca Lima said at the time: “The crime stood out for the extreme violence committed by the perpetrator Lucas, making clear that hatred was one of his motives. Lucas is an extremely dangerous individual, boasting a police record of over 20 reports for the practice of infractions and crimes, despite his young age.”
