The incident was filmed on Korsakovskaya Street in the town of Korsakov in the far-eastern Russian region of Sakhalin Oblast at around 7pm.

The unnamed 25-year-old man has been admitted to intensive care in a coma following the shocking fall.

In the clip, the young man is seen hanging from a third-floor window as someone appears to be indoors, holding onto his hands.

Meanwhile, firefighters position the ladder to the side of the hanging man and one fireman slowly ascends the steps.

As the firefighter appears to help the 25-year-old man shuffle across to the ladder, the victim lets go off his companion’s hands and drops to the ground.

Netizens had a lot to say about the firefighters’ efforts, with ‘Dangerisback’ commenting: “The fireman should be questioned about that, if it was his son hanging there, he would have been up that ladder in a shot.”

‘Dmtrv’ said: “Going by the footage, the firefighters did not seem to want to save him.”

Additionally, many netizens questions why the firefighters placed the ladder to the side of the hanging victim instead of under his feet where he could have supported his weight.

It is currently unclear if the local authorities are investigating the incident. It is unclear why the man was dangling from the third-floor window, although local media reported he was drunk.
