This is the moment a reportedly drunk assistant referee is spotted stumbling and falling onto the pitch during a match as fans laugh on.
Czech lineman Milan Sefara was allegedly drunk while refereeing a youth match between Beroun and Slany on Sunday around noon in the town of Beroun located in the central region of Bohemia in the Czech Republic.
The video shows the moment Sefara stumbles on and off the pitch before struggling to walk in a straight line as he follows play.
A short time after Sefara runs down to try and keep up with the play, he stumbles and falls face-first on the ground. The lineman struggles to stand back up, falling once more before he barely manages to get back to his feet.
Sefara tries to keep his composure but is seemingly unable to walk in a straight line, as teenagers watch on and are heard laughing at the referee’s state.
Two organisers then call referee Tomas Brozek’s attention, addressing the condition of the lineman. Local media report Brozek allowed Sefara to finish the match.
The Centra Bohemia Regional Football Association released a statement claiming they “will initiate disciplinary proceedings against Milan Sefara”.
The statement went on to say the association “considers the referee’s behaviour unacceptable and will severely punish” him.
There have been no reports of any measures being taken or considered.
