Man Arrested After Heading For The Hills When Cops Spotted Him With No Seat Belt On

Cops from the USA have arrested a man who headed for the hills after a police officer noticed he was not wearing his seat belt.

The suspect – later identified as Cepeda Carter, 30 – was reportedly checked by a deputy who ran the car’s tags and found that he was wanted for probation violation on an aggravated assault charge.

But before a nearby Atlanta Police Department (ADP) Unit, in Georgia State, USA, could react, Carter – having anticipated the outcome – hit the brakes and led officers into a high-speed chase on Thursday, 23rd March.

He reportedly drove into a nearby neighbourhood in the area of Oak Drive, where he parked his car and rushed out to a house next door, as the APD Air Unit followed him.

But as Carter got close to the residence, the APD officers caught up and and continued chasing him into the backyard of his grandmother’s house.

The brief foot-chase ended after officers caught and apprehended Carter after he finally quit running.

He was later charged with multiple traffic violations and obstruction, in addition to his outstanding warrant for aggravated assault.
