A 40-year-old man has beenkilled by his underaged son who accidentally fired a shot while the two were hunting.

The fatal accident occurred at a hunting ground located in the town of Azuaga, in the Spanish autonomous community of Extremadura, on Saturday 29th August.

The father and son, who have not been identified, are reported to be from the neighbouring town of La Puebla del Rio in the province of Seville, located in the autonomous community of Andalusia.

They are thought to have traveled to Azuaga once the hunting season started in Spain.

The exact age of the minor is unclear, however, the victim who was the minor’s father was aged 40.

Hunting season started on 15th August and is expected to last until 8th September, however, it is unclear when the pair made the trip or how long they were hunting before the accident occurred.

Local newspaper ’20 minutos’ report the Spanish Civil Guard say everything is “pointing to a hunting accident” but agents “opened an investigation to clear up the facts”.

The investigation is ongoing. It is unclear when it is expected to be concluded.
