This is the moment a moped rider is knocked down and run over by a turning lorry only to cheat death and re-emerge unharmed seconds later.

CCTV camera footage from the county of Xiuwu in China’s central Henan Province shows the unnamed woman, aged 52, disappearing into the undercarriage of the heavy goods vehicle, the driver having failed to notice her.

The clip shows the articulated lorry turning right at a crossroads when it collides with the moped rider looking to travel straight.

She appears to be in the lorry blind spot and is quickly knocked off her moped, falling onto the road.

All the wheels of the lorry’ tractor and then the trailer roll right past her, revealing the rider on the ground as the dramatic accident concludes as quickly as it began.

Traffic policeman Chen Genfu said: “Both the lorry and the electric moped entered the junction during a green light.

“During our investigation, we learned that the woman had intended to go straight, while the lorry was turning right.

“She was knocked over and taken to hospital with no serious issues besides a minor injury to one of her legs.

“The probably of her surviving unharmed in such a miraculous way were one in tens of thousands, or probably even lower.”

The driver of the heavy goods vehicle was found fully liable for the accident, having not yielded for the moped before turning.

He has been fined 50 RMB (5 GBP) and given three demerit points.
