This is the moment the suspected leader of a cartel cell is led into the police station while still wearing her black dress and high heels.

Maria del Carmen N. alias ‘La Ceci’, was arrested in Venustiano Carranza in the central Mexican capital Mexico City on 10th April and the local authorities released a video of her being led into the police station while wearing a black dress.

According to prosecutors, Del Carmen is suspected of leading a cell of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) that operated in the municipalities of Gustavo A. Madero, Venustiano Carranza, Azcapotzalco and Cuauhtemoc.

The alleged cell’s operations could also extend into other municipalities such as Texcoco, Nezahualcoyotl and Ecatepec, according to prosecutors.

Local media said the municipalities are affected by an ongoing turf war with the CJNG cell and rival crime organisations.

Del Carmen was arrested in a car where allegedly half a kilogramme of crystal meth was seized as well as a gun and bullets, according to reports.

Local media said she is being investigated for violence, weapons possession and bribery.

According to reports, the CJNG’s rivals in the city include La Union Tepito, Los Canchola, Anti-Union, and Tlahuac cartels which have seen a number of their leaders arrested or killed recently.
