This is the moment a brave elderly petrol station customer finds a half-naked man allegedly trying to rape a female shop worker and fights the man off with a shovel.

The shocking incident took place at a petrol station in the Tavrichesky district in the Omsk Oblast region of Russia and was recorded by a CCTV camera in the shop in the petrol station.

Local media report a customer, 34, who was allegedly high on unspecified drugs, went to the petrol station and demanded he be allowed to fill his car’s tank for free.

When the female worker refused, he then began attacking her. In the video, he can be seen walking behind the counter.

He then appears to be in the process of sexually assaulting the woman before an elderly driver carrying a shovel comes into the shop and the attacker pulls his underwear up. The elderly driver and the attacker then become embroiled in a wrestling match for the shovel before an onlooker joins them.

The local authorities report the alleged attacker was detained after the elderly driver “was able to neutralise the intruder with a shovel and save the girl”. 

A criminal case was initiated against the 34-year-old resident from the village of Pristanskoe for attempted rape. It is unclear if he has been charged.
