Lawyer Of Plane Crash Singer’s Pilot Dies After His Plane Hits Electricity Tower In Brazil

A lawyer who represented the pilot of a famous Brazilian singer who died in a plane crash has died in similar circumstances after his aircraft hit an electricity tower.

Sergio Roberto Alonso, 74, was reportedly piloting the aircraft when it crashed near Rodovia Marechal Rondon in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Saturday, 6th January.

Alonso, an expert in aviation law, had acted as the legal representative of the family of Geraldo Martins in 2021.

Martins was piloting the aircraft that killed famous Brazilian singer Marilia Mendonca in November 2021 and two other people when it crashed in Minas Gerais.

Alonso had spoken about the case last October, saying that the conclusion that the pilot had been at fault was “absurd and hasty”.

Local media reported that in this latest crash, which claimed Alonso’s life, he had taken off from the Aeroclube de Bauru before hitting the ground at 2:11pm.

The lawyer reportedly died of his injuries at the scene.

The authorities are investigating the crash to determine what caused it.

Marilia Mendonca was a popular Brazilian singer and songwriter who died at the age of 26 when the aircraft she was in crashed. In Piedade de Caratinga, in Minas Gerais, where she was set to perform a show on 5th November 2021.
