These images purport to show a thermonuclear ‘Yars’ intercontinental ballistic missile being loaded into a silo launcher in Russia.
The footage reportedly shows the large missile being transported under escort to the facility in the Kaluga region of western Russia.
The missile is slowly lowered into the silo, with the entire launch vehicle being turned 90 degrees in the air and the large missile then being extracted from the vehicle.
It can be seen entering the silo as the footage ends.
The images were obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Wednesday, 14th December, along with a statement claiming: “In the Kozelsk formation of the Strategic Missile Forces, a Yars intercontinental ballistic missile was loaded into a silo launcher.
“On the eve of the Day of the Strategic Missile Forces in the Kozelsky missile (Kaluga region) formation, a Yars intercontinental ballistic missile was loaded into a silo launcher.
“The missile is installed in the silo using a special transport and loading unit. The most complex technological operations last several hours.
“Also, the unit is working on creating a new infrastructure that provides better conditions for the training of duty forces, carrying out combat duty and rest by personnel.”
We have not been able to independently verify the claims or the footage.
The ‘Yars’ is a Russian thermonuclear intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) that first entered service in 2010.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that generators are as important as tanks when it comes to helping Ukrainians survive through the winter after Russian President Vladimir Putin targeted the country’s energy infrastructure with waves of missile strikes.
President Zelensky told an emergency conference that was convened in Paris that Ukraine will need an additional EUR 800 million to make it through the winter and a further EUR 1.5 billion to repair the damage done to its energy grid.
Over EUR 1 billion was raised to help Ukraine over the winter months at the Paris aid conference, according to France’s Foreign Minister, Catherine Colonna.
The money, which has been pledged by 46 countries and 24 international organisations, is to be used to restore some of Ukraine’s damaged energy network, to support the food sector and to help with water supply, health and transportation.
