A dad who allegedly beat his six-year-old daughter to death with an aluminium baseball bat in a sickening attack has been seized by police.
Dustin L. Beechner, 37, then allegedly took the body of his daughter – Jozlyn Marie Beechner – to the roof of his home where he hid it under a sheet.
Beechner led the police to the youngster’s body at the home in St Joseph, a city in Buchanan County, in the Midwestern US state of Missouri, according to the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department.
Beechner was reportedly placed in handcuffs after leading investigators to the body on 2nd September. He was denied a bail bond by a judge today, on Wednesday, 14th September.
The police were reportedly called to the home on Mitchell Avenue on 2nd September.
The suspect reportedly led them to the body and police said that the child had died of blunt force trauma to the head after she was struck multiple times with the metal baseball bat.
The suspect was reportedly placed on suicide watch while at the Buchanan County jail.
He faces life in prison. The motive for his alleged actions is currently unclear.
The young girl’s funeral has been set for 1pm on Saturday, 24th September at the Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, also in St Joseph.
Jozlyn would have turned 7 on Thursday, 15th September, acording to local media.
