This is the moment two young boys are caught on camera pretending to fly like Superman while clinging to the roof of a car as it shoots through a red traffic light.

The reckless stunt was caught on the dashcam of another motorist following behind in the town of Pasir Gudang in the Malaysian state of Johor.

It shows a silver car with the youngsters lying on the rear window with their heads above the rooftop as it approaches a traffic light which is on red.

The car does not slow down and drives straight across the crossroads despite the obvious danger to the young daredevils clinging to the car roof.

The footage was later shared on Facebook where it alarmed online commentators who were shocked by the foolhardy stunt.

Netizen ‘Reena Praba’ blasted: “This is crazy!!!”, ‘Pak Yein’ asked the driver: “What’s wrong with you?”, and ‘Chee Wui Wong’ wanted to know: “Why do you want to risk the child’s life?”

Further photographs were posted on Twitter of the young boys clinging onto the top of the car. Local media said it appeared the youngsters were pretending to fly like Superman .

Another picture shows one of the boys with a different friend, seen drinking from a bottle, as they sat on the boot of the car as it waited at another junction.

The clip and the pictures reached the attention of local police officers who say they have tracked down and punished the driver.

The man told cops he had agreed to let the youngsters perform the stunt because his son had nagged him into it, cops said. The other two children were the boy’s friends.

“The driver has since been fined for negligent driving and for not obeying a red light,” the spokesman added.
