KIDNAPPER NABBED: Cop Saves Children Stolen Along With Truck

This is the moment a Florida cop arrests a man for kidnapping after he stole a truck with two children inside.

The incident took place in Hillsborough County, Florida, USA on 10th October.

Deputy Jonathan Pazmino Alvarez was flagged down by the trucker, who said that his 2011 white Chevrolet Silverado had just been stolen along with his two young children who were sitting inside, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Pazmino Alvarez immediately pursued the truck and was able to conduct a traffic stop in just minutes.

Body-cam footage shows the suspect – later identified as Kevin Smith, 37 – being quizzed by Pazmino Alvarez, who asks him to turn the engine off and exit the truck.

Smith refuses to step out for a little while, saying that he is afraid he will get punched by the deputy.

Pazmino Alvarez assures Smith that he won’t get hit and pulls him by the arm until he gets out.

Following a short conversation, the deputy is able to arrest Smith without incident.

The two children, aged four and eight, were uninjured and returned safely to their father, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Smith has a criminal history in Hillsborough County dating back to 2003 and is currently incarcerated at Falkenburg Road Jail without bond, according to the police.

Sheriff Chad Chronister said: “This situation could’ve been a lot worse had it not been for the swift action taken by Deputy Pazmino Alvarez. He halted what could have been an otherwise terrifying situation for any parent.

“Thanks to him, two children are safe and in the arms of their loved ones today.”
