The is the moment a Jaguar driver cheats death as their car’s roof is ripped off after sliding underneath two lorries in a tunnel.

The unnamed owner of the Jaguar XFL is said to have been “speeding” at the time of the accident, according to local reports from Shapingba District in south-western China’s Chongqing Municipality.

The crash happened in the Shuangbei Tunnel at 6:50am local time today (4th June), with grainy CCTV images showing the Jaguar rear-ending a blue and then a red lorry.

Videos taken in the aftermath of the accident show the Jaguar saloon missing its roof after having been driven into the undercarriages of both lorries, which can be seen parked in the distance.

Local authorities said they were investigating the crash, and the Jaguar owner is understood to be under questioning.

No further casualties had been reported at the time of writing.

The Jaguar XFL is long-wheelbase saloon built specially for the luxury car market in China.
