A suspected supporter of the so-called Islamic State who reportedly married one of the militia and moved to Syria has been arrested after landing in Germany.

The 30-year-old woman, named in reports as ‘Lorin’ arrived at Frankfurt Airport aboard a plane from Turkey with four children and was immediately arrested on the evening of 3rd December at the airport in Hesse, Germany.

An arrest warrant from the state of Lower Saxony was filed against the woman.

According to the German Press Agency, the woman is said to have German and Syrian nationality and emigrated from Lower Saxony to Syria.

Lorin S. moved to Syria a few years ago and had married an Islamic State (IS) fighter, who was later killed.

Whilst in Syria she gave birth to four children, a two and a three-year-old, as well as twin boys who were born in April.

Eva Kuehne-Hoermann, Hessian Minister Of Justice, said at the weekend that parents should be held criminally responsible if they take their children from Germany to ISIS areas.

Kuehne-Hoermann, says: “Those who educate their children in a religious extremist way, those who deliberately expose their them to health hazards in areas of conflict and who expose their children to the educational methods of IS, should be held criminally responsible.”

Another IS-returnee from Central Hesse is being investigated for membership in a foreign terrorist organisation and for violation of the duty of care and education, after arriving in Frankfurt in November with three children.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish President, has threatened to deport further alleged IS supporters to Europe.

Lorin S.’s children are being kept in custody at the Youth Welfare Office.
