This is the moment an adorable stray dog walks into a pharmacy and presents its injured paw to one of the pharmacists who then treats it.

The heartwarming scenes were recorded at a pharmacy in the city Istanbul, Turkey’s most populous city located in the Marmara region, when the stray pooch walked through the automatic doors.

In the video, the dog walks into the pharmacy and is greeted by another pooch inside before pharmacist Banu Cengiz brings some food for the stray.

However, as she bends down the dog raises its front-left paw, presenting it to the pharmacist who sees the paw is injured.

Cengiz told reporters: “First I tried to understand what the problem was. The dog literally presented its paw, I saw there was blood. Then I cleaned it, I put an ointment on it and kept it for a while in the shop. Some locals wanted to adopt it but this is a stray dog that wants freedom, so it left the shop.”

Another clip shows Cengiz treating the wound as the stray holds it hands patiently for her. The dog then lies on its side and Cengiz gives it a belly rub.

Local media report Cengiz is known for helping stray animals in the area.
