A cosmetics influencer missing for three weeks has been found dead in a roadside ditch among six other unidentified corpses.

Police say the gruesome discovery in Puruandiro, in the Mexican state of Michoacan, was made after complaints about the putrid smell.

One of the bodies found in the mass grave on 10th May was identified as 23-year-old content creator Tania Araceli Guzman Navarro.

The corpses were so badly decomposed it took police forensic experts five days to establish Tania’s identity, which was later confirmed by her family.

It is not known if there are any links between the seven dead or if their bodies were dumped by the same killers, according to local media.

Tania was popular on Instagram where she shared makeup content and tips on how to create different looks with her 23,000 followers.

According to her family, she was last seen walking through her hometown at around 8:45 pm on 21st April.

Her family immediately reported her disappearance to the police and began an extensive search.

But the search – including a march on 26th April called ‘Where is Tania’ – failed to turn up any clues.

Fellow influencers shared the search file and photos of Tania asking their followers to pass than on to widen the search.

The investigation is ongoing.

Last January it emerged that Michoacan is Mexico’s fourth most violent state with nearly 2,500 killings in a year.
