The woman – named only as Najwa – told how she lost touch with best friend Bobbi Smith after she left Allan Primary School in Stirling aged just eight.

Nawja’s family moved away from the area 20 years ago but she never forgot her best friend Bobbi.

Then last week (21st Feb) she took to Twitter to find her pal tweeting: “Help me find my long lost friends.”

Najwa aid: “Hi, I’m Najwa. I used to live in Stirling, Scotland from 2000 – 2004. I’m trying to find my bestie from that time, her name is Bobbi Smith (that’s literally the only thing I remember). We went to Bridge of Allan Primary School.”

She added in a thread of tweets: “We were classmates from Year 1 – Year 3, I remember our class teacher from Year 1 as Mrs Anderson and Year 2 as Mrs Pollack (i think). Other classmate names that I remember are Andrew, Sarah, Lauren and Belinda? I don’t remember their surnames.

“I posted this on Tiktok as well but I doubt I’ll get any reach there but who knows I’ve tried searching myself to no avail too. I used to have their numbers and addresses but I lost the book back when we renovated our house.”

A few days later she posted an update after alumni from the school in Scotland heard her call and decided to help.

She said: “Update but not really, I have a lead and have messaged her, waiting for a reply! I think it’s her based on her pictures but I’m not 100 per cent sure.

“This has gotten to Stirling guys! I’m so close”

And she added: “Okay so I have so many Bridge of Allan alumnus helping me out and I think I’ve finally found her! (And hopefully a lot more of my classmates) Thank you so so much to everyone that reached out, this has been amazing.”

And a few days later on 24th February, Najwa confirmed she had “finally found her”.

She explained: “A little story time! So a Malaysian who went to Bridge of Allan until Primary 7 contacted me and gave me Bobbi’s Facebook acc she got from mutuals and I texted her. But I wasn’t sure of it was really her because her name was different I was worried of imposters for some reason.

“But then, a friend of Bobbi’s brother reached out and confirmed it was her, as well as some other of my fellow classmates. Turns out Bobbi had changed her name a few years ago! No wonder I never found her after searching up her name.

“We talked back and forth (a bit hard because of the timezones hahaha our texts are hours apart) I was so moved she remembered me but not only that, she even kept one of my letters to her I think I was 8 here? (Gosh my email….)

“We’re catching up with one another, slowly but surely. Throughout this journey, I also managed to reconnect with some other classmates which was a joy too. Everyone grew up so pretty

“I cant express how thankful I am for everyone’s help in me finding Bobbi. I honestly never thought I could get it this far.”

She added that she hoped to get to revisit Stirling, and hopefully meet up with her friends reunited, although she shared no further details.
