The death of an Instagram model during a liposuction op in India has shocked her social media fans.

Nigerian influencer Amelia Pounds – who had flown to New Delhi for the procedure – died aged 28 on 7th October apparently during the operation.

A grim 21-second video which emerged on social media apparently showed Amelia dead on a trolley wearing a hospital gown with an identity tag on her wrist.

On the viral video soundtrack, an unnamed man appears to be saying sorry.

Local media reported that the video was recorded shortly after she had died.

The tragic news concerning her unexpected death left her Instagram fans devastated.

Instagram user @elenalynes commented on a post: “It’s high time we start appreciating our bodies, shine your own jojo tank in peace and don’t mind what people will say.”

A second user named @hunter_omolo said: “Why lipo when there are plenty of gyms and trainers, easy way out.”

User @charzla53 said: “Ladies, you can never please all men, just maintain your body the way God blessed you, and you will still find that partner that will love you the way you are, there is no need to go for surgery that risk your lives in the name of you want to look “attractive”, there is still someone who won’t notice the difference.”

Local media reported that the cause of the model’s death has not yet been revealed.

It has not been disclosed whether the police will investigate.
