Hollywood fiction became reality here when 64 tonnes of molten steel flooded across the floor at a metal processing plant in a repeat of the iconic scene from Terminator 2.

This accident recently took place in the city of Stary Oskol, Belgorod Oblast, south-western Russia where what was reportedly 64 tonnes of hot molten steel was accidentally spilt on the ground.

Eyewitnesses who was safely above the accident scene captured the moment on a video and later shared it in social media.

The footage shows a big tank full of sparkling molten steel hanging in the air before fiery liquid is seen pouring from it.

The voice off camera says: “That’s it. It’s over. It will spill on the ground now burning all the cables and equipment there.”

The chief engineer of the Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant, Kirill Chernov, told local media: “The reason is human error – one of the workers responsible for closing the tank didn’t close it and this is what caused the accident.”

According to the official, the accident caused a four-hour delay of work from the plant.

No injuries were reported and all of the equipment and technical devices were reported as working normally despite the scepticism of the person filming.

In Terminator 2: Judgment Day, the villain, a T-1000 is battling the Arnold Schwarzenegger cyborg character in a similar steel mill and is finally destroyed when it falls into a vat of molten metal.
