This is the moment a husband pepper sprays his wife before violently wrestling their son out of her arms and running away with the boy.

The incident took place in the south-eastern Russian city of Blagoveshchensk in Amur Oblast and was captured on CCTV cameras.

In the video, the woman and her son, who have not been named, can be seen walking through a car park when a hooded man sprints up behind them.

The man sprays something into the woman’s face, reportedly pepper spray, and then tries to grab the boy, three years old, from her grasp.

The woman desperately clings on to her son, dropping to the ground as the hooded man tries to pull the youngster away from her.

Local media report he managed to grab and the boy and the footage shows him leaving the scene and seemingly getting into a white car with the youngster in his arms.

The woman told investigators that the man was her husband, who has not been named in reports and is the boy’s father. No motive has been provided for the kidnapping.

Neither the man nor the boy has been located and an investigation is ongoing.

‘Yuliya’ said: “This type of father is dangerous for the kid. It looks like he can do whatever it takes to carry out his will. They must deprive his parental rights.”

Another netizen named ‘kolano4ka’ said: “They need to set up a law when all the future parents should be examined by a psychologist first to reduce these types of parents.”

Police have not commented on the incident or whether the man and the boy have been found and what action has been taken.
