This is the horrific moment a serving police officer allegedly shoots his ex-wife dead in the street in broad daylight.

The cop, named as Bilal Agir, 52, also allegedly injured a man who was with his ex-wife, as well as a 17-year-old mother who was not involved in the incident but who was reportedly hit by a stray bullet.

The incident took place in the city of Bursa, the capital of Bursa province in north-western Turkey.

The footage shows the cop tussling with the other man, named only as Yahya A., while the woman, reportedly his ex-wife, school headmistress Yasemin Agir, 45, tries to stop them.

The police officer can be seen drawing his firearm and allegedly opening fire on the man, who appears to be shot in the chest and collapses on the ground.

The police officer then turns his attention to his ex-wife, who can be seen backing away from him and turning her back on him in a bid to call for help.

He walks up to her and allegedly shoots her in the back. He appears to shoot her at least twice, possibly shooting her a third time after she hits the ground. She is seen falling to the ground lifeless as the footage ends.

Another woman was reportedly injured by stray bullets. She is currently being treated in hospital and has been named as teen mum Seyma U. Her condition is said not to be life-threatening.

Yahya A., meanwhile, remains in hospital in a serious condition.

Bilal Agir was reportedly arrested at the scene.

He reportedly claimed that he had been attempting to discuss custody of their child with his wife but that the situation escalated after Yahya A. was reportedly aggressive.

It is unclear if he has been formally charged.
